How in the world is Chase FIVE years old?!! I really cannot believe it! We started this blog when I was pregnant with him, so we've been going strong on here for almost six years now!

We surprised him with a new Spiderman bike right before his birthday. His school was having a trike a thon for St. Jude and the only bike he has is a pink one that says "Princess". Even I couldn't let him go to school with that bike!

Chase is such an amazing little boy and a great oldest child and big brother! He really fits both of those roles really well. He's very responsible and in charge, all the while being very conscientious of what's going on around him-like knowing where Parker is.
He can do so many more things on his own these days- like all pottying needs, getting himself a snack (and JuJu), feeding Parker, retrieving things from the fridge during dinner (extra milk, etc.), telling time, picking out his own clothes and trying his best to match his clothes, etc. The latter one is what cracks me up. Even the other day, as he was wearing a green monster truck shirt and gray shorts, he told me that he picked out that outfit because the gray in the shorts matched the gray in the tires on the monster truck! And it did- exactly! Now one morning he came downstairs wearing all brown (different shades mind you) and told me that it matched because they were both brown. So he's not perfect. :)
He is such a good helper and usually always is very willing to help. Sometimes he will even get JuJu dressed, even though she can do it on her own. She likes to have her big brother take care of her. He helps Phil on trash nights to gather up all the trash cans from around the house and empty them and then put them all back. We have started loosely using a chore chart with him, without any monetary rewards though.

He is getting physically big as well! He weighs 43 lbs now and is 43 in tall. He's 50 percentile for both height and weight. That's pretty much where he has always been. He's wearing mostly size 5 clothes and size 12 shoe.
He's been totally potty trained for a couple of years now, but we are still working on the night time thing. I think we have a ways to go there.

Some of Chase's favorite foods- pretty much all snack foods! :) He likes Energy Bars from Costco, yogurt, fruit strips, cottage cheese, raisins, bananas, blueberries, grilled cheese, mac and cheese, french toast and any other breakfast food that you can think of! He loves, loves, loves breakfast but doesn't care so much for dinner.

Chase's favorite activities- LEGOS!!, drawing, riding his bike, climbing on whatever structure will hold him, watching 'the game' with Daddy at night after the other kids are in bed (just whatever sporting event Phil can find on tv), t-ball, play dates with his buddy Colton and jumping on the trampoline at Mimi and Pops' house.
So now we are just waiting for Kindergarten! Seriously, where did the time go? As much as I miss him being a baby, I love the five year old that he has become and I wait each day to see what new things he'll do.
We love you Chase! You are a wonderful child to raise and we pray that we are teaching you the best we can and raising you up as God would have us to.
