Last Day of T-ball and Swim Lessons

Chase's last t-ball game was the week after school let out. It would have been two weeks after school let out, but we were gone on vacation. So he missed the actual last game. He improved a lot in just those few, short weeks.
They started doing coach pitch about half way through and that was though for him at first, but he quickly got the hang of it. In this picture he's tagging the running out who is heading home.

He and Phil play catch all the time in the backyard and practice hitting. Last week Chase hit a tennis ball over the fence!

Chase and his buddy Colton

Phil took him to his own softball game a couple of weeks ago and he said that whenever he looked over at Chase, he was just practicing throwing the ball up in the air and catching it with his glove. Chase told me that one time he missed and the ball came down and hit him on the bridge of his nose. Sure enough, a few days later he had a bruise on his nose and dark circles under his eyes. Only the beginning I'm sure.

Also that week was his last day of swim lessons. (Chase is the one in the water.) He did an amazing job this year and was able to swim under water by the last day! It's only a five day class, so that's pretty good!

He has since been looking forward to swimming in any pool he can find and I'm so happy! I just wish we had regular access to one so that he doesn't lose what he's learned. I'm sure some opportunities will arise.

And So It Begins

Chase started his first year of t-ball in May and boy has it been busy! He's had two games/practices a week. Whew! I can tell that once the other kids are old enough to do the same thing that it's really gonna be crazy around here!

Phil is helping coach. I was surprised that he wasn't jumping to be the head coach, but that's just his personality.
Chase hits off the tee really well and they are now even starting to do some coach pitch.

It has been freezing for most of the games so far. I don't know what is going on with this weather, but it's nice. Today, for instance, I think the high was 53! And it's been like that on and off for a few weeks. I think it's about to be over though, as are Chase's games. The last one that he will play is this week. We will miss the actual last game next week because we'll be out of town.
