Last Day of School 2011

Chase and Julianna had their school program and last day of school on May 12th. They both did great on stage and were able to spot us out in the audience.
Chase with his two teachers, Ms. Heather and Ms. Susan. Bye-Bye Pre-K. Hello Kindergarten! I can't believe it!
Julianna refused to take a picture with her teachers, which is not a surprise. So she's posing with the fish she made.

Wow! I now have a 3 yr old and a Kindergartener!! Parkie will go there this year also. One or two days a week. I haven't decided yet.

Let the summer begin!

Some Last Minute Christmas Celebration Pics

I'm still trying to catch up to Christmas. :)

The kids had their preschool program and last day of school on my birthday. Phil was on a trip, but my mom had already planned to take off work and go to their program with me. I'm so glad she did because I don't know how I would have done all of that, with Parker too.

I wish I would have thought to get a picture of her with the kids! Or me!

They sang on stage and then had cookies and punch in the gym.

I'm not sure why he has that look on his face. I was way up in the balcony. I'm surprised he found me.

Each class had a Christmas tree with hand-made ornaments from the kids in that class.

The night before the program we made Christmas, and then I made some other Christmas goodies after they went to bed, to give to their teachers that day.

These are Chase's cookies.

And these are JuJu's. Boy did they have fun with the sprinkles!

So of course they got to eat them for dessert for a few nights. Just one or two each night.

Chase at School

Chase is having a great school year and is doing "real" school work this year. He's doing a great job with his pre-reading and writing skills. He is able to sound out most words and say what letter it starts with and then write that letter. I can already tell that he's starting to get bored with that, so we're gonna move on to ending sounds.

He's started playing learning games on the computer and is great at using the keyboard and mouse. We're thinking about a LeapPad for Christmas, or something of the sort. It looks like the new ones have downloadable apps on them, which looks better than keeping up with cartridges. If anyone has any ideas on that, please leave me a comment. I'm open to suggestions.

Another academic area he's venturing into outside of school is math. I noticed that he had been doing some simple math on his own, so I bought him a 1st grade math book and he is doing great with it! It has 2 +2 = ____ and he has to write in the number. Or it has pictures of 2 ducks and then a picture of 4 more ducks and he has to write number 6. I am amazed at how easy it seems to him.

In Pre-K, they do a lot of things that the 2's and 3's don't do- like have a Petting Zoo visit.

I am able to do more things at school this year, since I now only work one Saturday a month (and I didn't even do that this month.) It's been really nice to be able to be home full-time (thanks in part to FedEx for giving Phil back his hours over the summer that they took away 2 years ago).

He wasn't big on the animals coming up to him. You can see that he is barely holding this bottle and his legs are spread wide apart so that the goat doesn't touch his legs. :)

I was standing beside this little girl's Momma and when she found out that Chase was my son, she said that he is all the Graycie talks about. When I asked Chase about her, he said that she always talks to him during nap and that he tells her to be quiet.

They got to ride a train. Four girls and 2 boys- not bad odds there boys.

And then they got to ride a pony! He was really excited about this!

And this would have been a really good picture if I hadn't cut half his face off! Hopefully a new camera is coming our way before the end of the year. One that will take better and faster pictures!

Our weekly schedule this year is preschool on Tues/Thurs for Chase and Julianna and then Bible Study (half day) for me and all 3 kids. They learn so much here and it's pretty much a 1/2 day of preschool, but with mostly Bible lessons. I LOVE it!! We have Mondays and Fridays off, but there always seems to be something schedules on those days to keep us plenty busy!

First Day of School and Getting So Big!

Hold on....here come a lot of pictures!!

Chase is getting so big and is truly such a good helper around here! Here's one of the new things that he can do- ride JuJu horsie. Phil appreciates the break. :)

He is also now able to pump his legs while swinging and swing himself! JuJu is trying her hardest, as you can see in this picture, but she's a few years away still.

Look how hard he's pumping those legs! Go Chase!!

And today was the first day of 4 yr old preschool- the last year before REAL school starts next year. He was pleasantly surprised by homemade blueberry muffins this morning....and he ate FOUR!

He wasn't exactly in the picture taking mood, but I forced him to take this picture.

Can't you see how thrilled he is. :)

Walking in to school together. JuJu's first day is Thursday, and after that, they will be going to school together every Tues/Thurs. Much better than our school schdule last year (JuJu MWF and Chase T/TH). Their classrooms are right across the hall from each other too- how fun!

His attitude improved the closer we got to actually being in his classroom.

Chase plays dollhouse around here a lot with JuJu, but I thought that it looked kinda funny when we left him in his classroom playing dollhouse. I had to send Phil a text with that tid bit of info.

Then we hit up the new frozen yogurt place on the square, YoLo's. (Don't worry, Phil's just filling up those cups for kids. Not a chance he's eating it.)

Over 70 different toppings! I know that m&ms, sprinkles and gummy bears were some of the chosen ones by my kids.

And we worked off that dessert with a nice family stroll around the square, since it was only 95 today, lol.

Chase is a happy and energetic little boy who's not so little anymore. It's bringing tears to my eyes to think about this time next year and the fact that he'll be in Kindergarten! He's doing so well with the school things that we are working on at home- writing letters and doing math. He's actually adding numbers. A few days ago in the car he said, " Three plus three is six. ", just out of the blue. He explained how he had counted 2 sets of three different things on his book and then counted them all up together. What a smartie!

Christmas Program #2

Today was Chase's preschool Christmas program, which JuJu and I missed last year due to her being in the hospital. I thought about that often while we were there today, how I celebrated my birthday in the hospital last year and missed his program. We are SO thankful to be where we are this year, instead of last!

All the Three Year Olds. They sang about 4 songs, even one in Spanish!

Chase did great with this one, doing all the hand motions and everything.

Love this face, lol. This was taken while the Two Year Olds were singing.

He really didn't want to take his picture with his teachers, but we insisted. Julianna was all for it though. Julianna was also all about the cookies that were at the reception, just at the prefect height for her to reach. And there were major tears from her when we told her she could only have one. And what did her sweet, big brother do? He offered her the last bite of his cookie! And she took him up on it too! Such a good big brother!!

Julianna left in style. We took Chase out to lunch at Pei Wei after the program, since he only had a half day today. A fun family day.

First Day of Preschool 2009

Chase was such a big boy this year for his first day! He held JuJu's hand and walked in.

We moved him from Monday, Friday preschool to Tues/Thurs this year, so he doesn't have very many of the same kids in his class, which I didn't even think about when I did that. But that's okay. He already met a little boy named Cooper whose dad works with Phil, so that's good.

He had a good first day other getting stung by a wasp, or something of the sort, 3 times while on the playground. Tomorrow will be his first full day.
