Pink Palace Museum- An Indoor, Air-Conditioned Activity

It was been so hot here for about 2 weeks now, that we are going stir crazy since we aren't allowed to play outside. It has seriously been 100 degrees, or 99, every day with about 95% humidity, which makes it feel like 110 degrees. If you've never lived where there's lots of humidity, then you probably have no idea about the extent of heat I'm describing. It's kinda like walking around in a sauna all day. It gets hard to breathe. Phil's from Texas and he says that it's hotter here by far. Lovely!

So, with that said, we have tried to find any indoor, air-conditioned activities that we can. Last week I took the kids to Home Depot and let Chase ride tractors while Julianna and I sat across from the tractors in a swing. That was good for about 20 minutes.

Today we decided to try out our free, trial membership to a family of museums in Memphis, so we went to the Pink Palace. They have an exhibit going on about Dinosaurs. Chase and Julianna both loved it until the T-Rex caught Julianna off-guard and scared her so much that she cried!

They were animated and pretty cool.

Another cool exhibit was this Circus. It was all hand made and wooden and the outer animals, etc. moved around the whole exhibit.

It was hard to get a good picture.

This is the "Under the Big Top" part. All the acrobats, etc. under the tent all moved too.

I'll have to take a video next time. We were there 2 hrs and had to blow through the last part so we could get to lunch. There's also a planetarium there and an IMAX that would be cool. For all you homeschool people, I think this museum is a must!
