Parker's First Birthday Party

Our sweet little Parker turned one on January 21 and we celebrated all week!

His party was the Sunday before at my parents' house. There were about 40 people there, 13 or so which were boys around Chase's age.

We discovered a great cake lady, who also happens to be our neighbor. She did these two nursery rhymes cakes, based off the napkins and plates. She did an AMAZING job!

It's probably hard to see in the pictures, but the nursery rhymes go all the way around the cake and the detail is so intricate! And the cake tasted great too! So glad that I have her in my back pocket!!

Parkie was pretty oblivious to the fact that we were all there for him. He was sweet like he always is and he actually clapped for the first time at his party!

He is the first one of my kids to actually eat his cake.

He also had lots of helpers, facilitating the cake eating. :)

Then he took matters into his own hands and ate and ate and ate the cake....

..... and then he just knocked it right off his tray on to the floor.

(All the family at the party:top-Aunt Vicki and Uncle Tim, Parker, Mommy and Daddy. Bottom-JuJu, Mimi, Molly Chase and Pops.)

We asked for no gifts, but instead asked for donations to St. Jude. Parker is a healthy, happy, sweet baby and we know that there are many children his age who aren't healthy, so we'd rather give to them than collect any more toys for our house. If you would like to donate, here's the link to Parker's page at St. Jude.

And Mommy and Daddy with Parkie. We made it past the first year. Those first years are sweet...but long. The First Birthday Party I think is more of a celebration for us for surviving! :)
