We enjoyed a nice Saturday morning at our local boardwalk a few weekends ago. We are to the stage where neither kid wants to be in the stroller, but a 2 mi walk is a lot for them. So they usually start off walking while I push the stroller and then they ride back.
Julianna was "stuck" with me while Chase and Phil scaled the rocks down to the river. She was NOT happy about it. She tried desperately to get away from me and climb down the rocks to them. So Phil had to come back and get her.
Chase was having a blast rock climbing and did not have the time or patience to stop and smile for poor 'ole mom, lol. Every time I'd tell him to look at me and smile he would tell me that he was rock climbing and to just take his picture like that.
Ahhhh, someone who follows directions for pictures!
We hit the splash park a couple of days after that, but it was really too cool for it! Who would think that in August in Memphis I would be saying that?!!!
Julianna outlasted her brother in the water this day and did a great job cleaning up their toys. She is very good at that!
Chase has been really good about using good manners lately, asking nicely and using please without being prompted that we decided to reward him by letting him pick out a toy. We have NEVER taken our kids to a store and let them pick out a toy before so this was something totally new and very fun for him! He got a pick-up truck with a trailer that was hauling a 4-wheeler, but about 10 other toys were close runner-ups!
Julianna also got a little baby doll, which she loves, although that face might not show it!
They are being so sweet lately! Julianna will randomly reach her hand out for Chase to hold, or Chase will take her hand if they are walking somewhere so that he can protect her and keep her safe. It is soooo precious. They have started doing this in the car and I happened to have my camera this day. (Chase has a mouth full of smoothie in case you are wondering.)
