A cold front came through this weekend and left us with beautiful, low humidity weather! We've had the air off and the windows open for 2 days now. That is not something that people in these parts usually do out of choice in late August. We've had the best summer weather this year!So packed up for the zoo this morning, taking Julianna for her 6 mo eye dr's appt first. He eyes look great, so no glasses for now! Yea! But the dr did have to dilate them, so that meant that we had to take JuJu to the zoo with dilated eyes! It wasn't too bad for her (I don't think) b/c she kept her sunglasses and hat on the whole time, but she was temporally nearsighted, where she couldn't see up close, and she kept running into things. Poor baby!
We all know Julianna's love for birds of all kinds, so when we saw these chickens/roosters roaming around we knew that she'd love them! I was nervous b/c they like to peck and boy were they. She was fearless and holding her hand out for them.
Chase was freaking out and about to climb out of the stroller and run away! In this picture Julianna has the last part of her cereal bar in her hand and one of those bird just reached right up and grabbed it out of her hand! And boy was Julianna mad at that bird! Not scared at all, just mad!
Waiting for the panda "movie" to start before visiting the pandas. After this picture was taken, Julianna was walking around this room and ran right into the bench that Phil was sitting on!
And the quiet ride home! JuJu was asleep after about 1 minute of being in the car (since she missed her morning nap) and Chase was asleep in about 10.

We're never over then when the panda movie is about to start - how was that?
Yes, it was pretty neat. It tells the story about the bamboo forest destruction in China and why it is to vital to keep these pandas alive and reconstruct their habitat. It's probably 5-7 mins long.
