Memorial Day Weekend, Part 2

For all of Phil's family out there who is reading this, you know how much Phil's dad loves to do projects around the house. Perfect! I'm learning to have my list together for when he gets into town! This trip he and Phil fixed our very leaky shower, which wasn't just a quick fix. Thanks guys! He also helped Phil tackle his very cluttered workbench in the garage. We recently cleaned out all the other unnecessary clutter in the garage, but we didn't make it to the workbench. They spent the greater part of a day on this project.

This is one of the before pictures. They were going through all of Phil's scrap wood and making a shelf for it under the workbench. Note the bikes on the floor, the peg board not fully utilized and all the stuff on the workbench.

Phil's dad is pretty meticulous with his tools (and very neat and organized), therefore he did a great job of organizing Phil's tools for him.

Here are the two hard workers after a long day in the garage. Luckily it wasn't too hot that day.

And the final outcome. Notice the bikes are now hung on the wall so that we don't run over them when we pull in with the truck. Notice the clean workbench and new shelf underneath for the tools (the wood ended up being too long to be stored on the shelf). Also notice the very neat peg board on the right. You may not be able to see this, but the lighting is also improved from the first pictures. Phil and his Dad replaced some light bulbs in our track lighting (yes, our garage has track lighting- strange, I know) by the workbench and it helped a bunch! (Now we have to do the rest when we get some more bulbs.) Thanks Dad for all your hard work!!

In between rain showers we got to enjoy Chase's new swing set. This was his birthday present from both sets of his grandparents (Phil and my dad built it back in April). The plan is to eventually add on to it with a tower and slide and who knows what else. Fun! (Oh, and the swing set is not crooked, the yard slopes. :)
