Phil's parents were here for the long weekend (Friday - Tuesday) and we had a blast! We seem to have more fun each time they visit. I guess b/c the kids are older each time and can do more fun things.

Chase was very excited about the arrival of MomMom and PopPop and just desperately wanted them to play baseball with him. And they did.

This is my living room being taken over by a baseball game. Thank goodness for soft balls! We played baseball
and played baseball and played
more baseball for the first day they were there and then Phil decided to go and get Chase a glove for Lefties, as he has one for Righties and it's not working out so well on the wrong hand.

And then we played some
more baseball! PopPop and MomMom would crack up at Chase's commentary while playing ball. He'd say, "Awww, you gotta catch that ball!", or "Good catch PopPop." Once while MomMom was pitching, Chase got the thrown ball and walked it over to her and said, "Here, I'll
hand this ball to you since you can't catch them." We just laughed and laughed at his language!

Julianna couldn't be left out of the mix while her Bubba was getting a new glove, so she got her first "real" purse and
loves it!!! She pranced all around the mall with it and everyone just stopped and watched her walk, commenting how cute she was with that little purse.

She has pretty much napped and slept with it ever since. (And Chase really wants to carry it around too, but everyone is discouraging that. He justs wants a place to carry his cars. :)

We got to play outside on the deck for the first time in weeks (ever since the window incident). We got all the glass cleaned up and patio furniture put back in place for the weekend.

We opened up some bubble guns for some quick entertainment and Chase was set. Julianna even joined in on the fun, but I didn't get any pictures of her with the bubbles.

We grilled out all but one night, but did manage to eat outside each night, while constantly dodging rain showers.

We even got in a family walk on night after dinner, but did get wet on the way home. We walked to the park to do whatelse other than.....

you gussed it, play baseball!

Julianna is her Bubba's biggest cheerleader!

We grilled out on Sunday at my parents' house, while dodging more rain showers.

We had a yummy appetizers- fried pickles and mushrooms and onion rings. For dinner we had steaks, ribs, twice baked potatoes, broccoli salad, watermelon and heavenly dessert for, well, dessert. I forgot to get any pictures of the meal though.

We all enjoyed spending time outside, swinging, eating watermelon, riding tricycles and chit chatting. Chase decided that he really like watermelon and ate 4 pieces of it
after he ate his dinner and a popcycle! He is having a major growth spurt right now and eating me out of house and home, but that's another post for anther day.

The kids took their naps there while we all fixed the food. This is Julianna just waking up from her nap. Note what's in her hand. Yes, that's her new purse!

We checked out the garden while we were there. Not much growing yet. My dad has 2 hanging tomato plants, one of which has 10 tomatoes on it. So it's doing the best of anything! We've planted hot peppers; red, orange and green bell peppers; tomatoes (about 30 plants), jalapenos, watermelon, canteloupe, basil, corn, carrots (which didn't come up), sunflowers, cucumbers and pumpkins. I think that's all. Now it's time to start weeding!

On Monday we made it to our favorite park for lunch and some play time. We were hoping that since it looked like rain that there wouldn't be a lot of people there. And there weren't....b/c it poured down rain on us and we had to leave. But we did get to eat and play before that. Stay tuned for more pics!

Poor Chase...heartbroken that he can't carry a purse. Given his strength, I can't imagine that he will be able to play inside much longer. Looks like you had a great weekend!
